Eager Beaver!

Well, baby2 is very eager for some reason to come out & meet his new family and world.  Yesterday morning at 4:30 I woke up to the feeling I was peeing a little bit.  So I sat there and made sure I was not dreaming & then it happened again.  The first thing that came to me is maybe I was leaking a lot and maybe it was no big deal.  I know some of my friends that have been pregnant had that & said they would pee in their pants a little because they couldn't hold it but that hadn't happen to me at all with Trey or so far with this pregnancy so I just thought maybe that was something new that was starting for me with it getting so close to the end of things.  So I got up and went to the bathroom and it stopped so I was very excited.  Then as I got off the toilet things stated coming out again so right then is when I knew we had a situation on our hands.  Go figure Eric is out of town with work up in the bay area, I was home with Trey & picked him up early from school on Thursday 11.10 because he did n't feel great so it was 5:00am and that is when I sent the first text to Alice saying I have an emergency - can you come over......
Alice came right over to be at the house for Trey & I headed down to triage at Mary Birch.  Got their at 5:35 and then it all started.  I text Eric on the drive down to let him know what was happening.  They checked me to make sure it was my water/membranes that ruptured so they knew for sure then watched my contractions and the baby's heartbeat to see what was happening with him. The triage nurse was updating me on what was going to happen & then all I heard is "LETS HOPE THIS BABY DOESN'T WANT TO COME TODAY" That is when it hit me and the tears just started to run down my face. At that point is when she told me I would not be leaving the hospital & they would try everything to keep him in for the next day or two.  That is when I made the call to Eric & started to repeat the nurses words & could hear in his voice the shock or what I just heard. At that point I think we both   They moved me right up to Labor and delivery floor right after to get me set & get all the medicine they needed to get into me asap.  I got 2 antibiotics to avoid infection to me and the baby because that is the biggest risk when your membranes rupture early like this.  Then they have me on the magnesium to slow the contractions down.  I will be on that for the 48 hours then after that they take you off to let you body due what is is going to do after this point.  Because like I said before infection is the biggest worry so they want the body to set in motion what it needs to if that is happening inside & if they kept you on the magnesium that will fight against the body.  So hopefully baby 2 is realizing he doesn't need to see anything this soon so he can give me another 4 weeks - pretty please little man!

The last thing I got was the steriod shot and I got another after 24 hours.  You get only 2 of those & that is given to help mature the babies lungs fast because at 29 weeks and 5 days that are not developed enough so they can breath on their own so getting these 2 shots in is huge for baby 2.  Also, every day he can stay in is like 3 days saved down in the nicu.  So I hope you can hear me right now little Cofer - you need to give your self 30 more days in mommies tummy so that you can be as strong as possible before you come into this world!  You are going to need all the strength you can get little man & I know you can do it!
